Ooooo it was terrible.

I was just walking down the street after buying some snacks for my grandson

then all of a sudden a small car crashed into a pole right in front of my beady little eyes.

I couldn’t really make out who was driving, must have been some teenager. Ahh, teenagers these days. Just who do they think they are. The person came out of the car and asked for help. My glasses fell. A young girl picked them up for me and assured me I would be safe. I thanked her for being such a caring girl. ‘You know there aren’t many nice girls like you these days.’ She smiled and went to help the person. She called 911 and an ambulance came over as I just stood in my spot watching.

Our Racist, Sexist Selves

1. The author thought this test would reveal if we are racist or not. I agree and disagree because some people look at the color of a person at first sight and judge them by the color of their skin but you know that there are people who would look at what their holding first. I wasn’t paying a lot of attention to the color but I was looking at what their holding, a gun or cellphone.

2. Yes, it does because since there is a time limit to each photo and you will gradually think that black people hold more guns than white people.

3. The author thinks sexism is much hard to erase because the speed that a person determines whether a human is male or female is in 50 milliseconds whereas race takes 100 milliseconds. So we judge people on their sex first then race.

4. It’s harder for women to take the role of leadership because generally people think females are more caring, soft, and cuddly. People want a strong and tough and stable leader.

5. When women are viewed as strong and tough are also viewed as cold and unfeminine. “Many experiments have found that women have trouble being perceived as both nice and competent.” So people think that women can’t be nice and competitive at the same time and that its either one or the other.

6. It can be solved, just we need to get used to having women taking bigger roles such as teaching and having some power.

A Raisin in the Sun: Character Obstacle

Choose 3 characters in the movie and explain what the character wants and what obstacles that character faces. In the end, does the character get what he/she wants? If so, how? If not, is that a good thing? What does the ending on the movie seem to be suggesting about the possibilities of people to get ahead?

It was a well made movie. The man of the house wanted to start a liquor business but he needed the money to do so. He faces frustration and being controlled by the women. The grandma of the family wants peace and happiness within the family but her son’s struggles dealing with life was too much for her to compress. The man’s wife wants her husband to go earn money and desires happiness but her husband feels that she doesn’t love him and always nagging him and he never listens to her so it doesn’t work out. She was thinking of aborting their second child. The possibilities of getting ahead involves determination, discipline, and luck. Determination to not give up no matter what the situation is, discipline to control yourself and focus solely on the goal, and everybody needs some luck from time to time.

DSP

I liked how this project let us choose what we want to entertain the class with. There were lots of choices to choose from and with the variety of thinkers in our groups made it interesting because people have unlimited creativity. I personally liked the Ninja DSP because of the fight scenes and the intense facial expressions by Marwan, very well made. The funniest movie I have to say is our group, Gamble, we spend a decent amount of time filming and had fun. I had to edit out most of the mistakes and put them in the bloopers. Everyone laughed and enjoyed our movie. I also liked Talon’s movie which reminded me of Star Wars. They did a good job using figures and toys.

In our country I don’t think race is a big issue in my viewpoint because everyone gets along so well and from time to time in our school friends just play around making jokes about their own friend’s race. I don’t mind but if it crosses the line then yeah… The experience of living in America that is different depending on the color of your skin is old school. People get along just fine nowadays. Only haters, only a few, not a lot will look at you in disgust or you hear rumors or they just ignore you. I’ve been living in Shoreline since 1st grade and I don’t feel the discrimination upon me but I know there are some unlucky people out there who do. I’ve met people with all types of ethnicity from asian to cauasian to africans to canadians and so on. I get along with everyone fine no matter what they are. I think in the future everyone will accept people for what they are and who they are

PS: Also in order to maintain the planet, all humans will need to cooperate and stop global warming.

Power Quote

“Dream no small dreams for they have no power to move the hearts of men.” - Goethe

I agree 100% with the quote above. Small dreams will take you nowhere but big dreams will truly have a spark in the hearts of men. This quote defines desire, determination, and the nature of men. Most men desire to have power because they want to be superior over people. They like the feeling of having control. Some are willing to do anything to achieve it and it’s just the nature of men. Its like an instinct, it’s indescribable. Sports are my life so I grew up playing sports all the time. I had big dreams like being the best in sports. I liked the feeling of being counted on and not let my teammates down. In grade school, I started out playing games in the gym like dodge ball. I always had the explosiveness in my legs so I had a lot of speed to use at my advantage. Later on I played basketball until last year where I noticed tennis. I gradually started to like tennis and before I thought it was a dumb. But I was wrong. Now I love tennis and I would like to play Varsity in my senior year then hopefully college tennis. If I had small dreams, it wouldn’t take so long to achieve and I wouldn’t feel satisfied but big dreams are what motivate me. It also takes out the stress I get from school and family. If sports were taken away from me, it would be difficult to live (for me). Because I am a person who likes to move and not just sit around doing nothing. It is also how I learn in school because visually I learn better just like in sports where I need to see how to do it instead of reading how to do it.

48 Laws of Power

Law 3: “Keep people off-balance and in the dark by never revealing the purpose behind your actions. If they have no clue what you are up to, they cannot prepare a defense. Guide them far enough down the wrong path, envelope them in enough smoke, and by the time they realize your intentions, it will be too late.”

I believe this law works because it provides every concept of being evil. These laws are demonstrated in many plays and movies. A person who wants power should follow this law. It describes how to be cautious, wit, how to use people as a stepping stone, and selfish. It is one of the most effective methods to obtain what you want because you can lie about anything but making it seem true to other people. Say if you are a land collector who loves to buy all the natural and big lands. You want to control the best lands on a property and it just so happens that your friend wants to own that same land badly that you have your eyes on. To get your friend from buying that land you should get him/her to consider other land on a different property like guiding him/her to another place and talk only good stuff about it. Talk about how big the land is and the natural grass is shining brightly under the sun. Tell them how cheap the price is, the good soil, the square feet, how many things he/she could do with it. But never led them to think you want it because it would ruin everything. Guide them closer and closer to that land while buying the land you wanted. Conceal your desire and think about every word that comes out of your mouth carefully. If everything is done correctly, you can buy that land easily and your friend bought the land you recommended then it turns out to be the best of both worlds.

GUILTY

I loved the racket so much and I can’t buy that kind anymore because it’s extinct now. The shape and the beauty of the racket was so mesmerizing and its performance was way off the charts. It was a racket any tennis player would bow down to. I met this guy at the Shoreline Center tennis courts. He had this godly racket. I was hypnotized by it. Voices came to my head and said it would be better if I possessed it. So when the guy went to the restroom the racket was in his bag. Without thinking I took the racket from his bag and left home. On the way back home (taking the bus) I spaced out, just in a part of my mind where I ask myself questions (conscience). I asked myself was this worth it, staring at the racket. It’s the best racket ever. After thinking about 20 minutes I thought I should go back and put it back where it belongs. Racket Technology is always improving racket after racket, so the best decision is to wait until the best of the best has arrived. I saved enough money; I can buy the racket once it comes out. Until then, I’ll stay with my own racket.
